Kids Shows Or Side Entertainment?

When considering hiring an entertainer for a children’s party, you should think about the context in which you want the entertainer to perform. There are two main ways to feature a children’s entertainer:

Kids shows. This would be having the party stop at a certain point for the kids to gather around the entertainer for a scheduled performance. Many times this would be the case for a magician or a singer – the audience is seated around the performer as they put on a kids show. This type of presentation would be appropriate for smaller groups of kids. The children would then all be in one spot for 45 minutes to an hour, which is highly desirable for many parents.

Side entertainment. Having performers as side entertainment means that they are a part of the party, not a featured event of the party like a kids show. Side entertainers may include a clown who would walk around and goof off with the kids, or a face painter who would have a station where kids could get their faces painted and then run off. This type of presentation works well with very large parties where assembling all the kids may not be as feasible.

Either way, discuss this with your scheduled entertainer and get their opinion on the subject. After all, he or she would know better than anyone!
